Screening Guidelines for Average Risk

Average risk person - any person age 50 or older who does not qualify for one of the increased risk categories.

SCREENING TEST RECOMMENDATIONS
Fecal Occult Blood Test (FOBT) Annually
Sigmoidoscopy Every five years
FOBT Combines with Sigmoidoscopy Recommended as the preferred approach over FOBT alone
Double-Contrast Barium Enema (DCBE) Option every five - 10 years
Colonoscopy Option every 10 years
